History of the College
The Mar Thoma Teachers' Training College, Edakulam is a self financing institution affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It is owned and managed by the Ranny- Nilackal Diocese of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church. The college started functioning on the 18th June 1995 with a dedication service led by the former Metropolitan His Grace Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma.

NCTE Approval.

The college was accorded recognition by the NCTE in 2000-2001. The strength of the college as sanctioned by the NCTE in 130 in six various subjects: - English, Malayalam, Mathematics, Natural Science and Social Science.

Enrollment
130 students are admitted including 22 boys and 108 girls. Admissions are effected in accordance with the norms laid down by the University.

Results
Out of 130 students appeared for the B. Ed. degree examinations in March 2003, we secured 100% result with 98 first class and 32 seconds class.
